Description
The Hanna HI721 Iron Checker HC uses the Phenanthroline Method (adaptation of EPA-approved Standard Method 3500-Fe B). The reagent reacts with ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) to produce an orange tint proportional to the iron level. The device measures absorbance digitally and displays results in ppm (mg/L) iron on its LCD screen.
Naturally occurring iron in low concentrations can affect water taste, stain fixtures/laundry, and indicate pipe corrosion. Monitoring is essential in drinking water, industrial systems, and environmental samples
